World House Editions at the Editions|Artists's Book Fair

5 November 2009 - 8 November 2009

Donald Taglialatella is pleased to announce that World House Editions will participate at the 2009 Editions|Artists’ Books Fair.  This showing marks the third year in a row and third time for World House Editions.  The fair will take place at the former DIA Art Foundation building located at 548 West 22nd Street (between 10th and 11th Avenues) in New York.  It will open on Thursday, 05 November from 6 to 9pm and will run through Sunday, 08 November.  Hours can be found at www.eabfair.com.     The World House Editions stand is 15.

Featured this year will be a new edition by the renowned American Photorealist Robert Cottingham (b.1935)  ODE (2009, 20 x 20 x 5 ¼ inches) is a Fuji-trans transparency in a prefabricated light box in an edition of 15, and is the first ever executed by the artist.  ODE harkens back to the classic urban themes that made Cottingham one of the seminal figures in the Photorealist movement starting in the early 1970s.  This project marks the first collaboration between the artist and World House Editions.   In addition the project also announces the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the prints of the artist that will be edited by Donald Taglialatella and will be co-published by World House Editions and the prominent London-based art book publisher Lund Humphries.   This tome will not only be the first catalogue raisonné of Cottingham’s work but it will also be the first major monograph as well.  Expected release date is the spring of 2011.

American painter and collagist Josh Smith (b.1976) will make his print debut at E|AB with a selection of recent monotypes created in New York.  Through books, paintings, collages and prints, Josh Smith explores the ideas of authenticity, authorship and the mythology of the artist.  His casual, “anti-art” aesthetic intentionally defines the rules of artistic convention in an ironic and informed manner. The signifying components of his methodology consist of systematic processes and serial repetition.  This monotype project marks the first collaboration between Josh Smith and World House Editions.  The artist presently has an exhibition at Le Consortium in Dijon, France.

We will also be exhibiting editions by Darren Almond, John Armleder, Mark Francis, Antony Gormley and Ryan McGinness
