Executed in 2010, the present work is the first photographic edition published by an American publisher and is the first collaboration between the Sylvie Fleury and World House Editions.

Giulietta is classic Sylvie Fleury; from the depiction of an American automobile (a fascination of the artists’ since her first car, a 1968 Chevy Camaro) through her use of designer clothing and jewelry as signs and signifiers commenting on consumer and popular culture, to the historical/art historical double entendre and ambiguity of the title of the work.  Are we viewing a contemporary Juliet (Giulietta)?
